Nutrition will play a huge role in determining if you will be successful in your quest to lose weight and develop the type of body that you truly desire. Eating the wrong types of foods will wreck havoc on your body and cause you to be fighting an uphill battle with respect to reaching your goals. In this report I’m going to go over 3 types of foods that you should try to avoid. Consuming these types of foods on a regular basis will severely limit your ability to reach your goals. If you are going to consume the following types of food, you should only do so once in a while as a designed cheat meal (or part of a cheat meal.)
The first type of food you should avoid is any type of fried foods. I know this is a bummer because a lot of fried food tastes really good but the truth is it is terrible for you and not something you should be consuming regularly if your goal is to lose weight and get the body you truly desire. Typically fried foods are not only high in calories but also very high in fat. This is a bad combination. On top of this, the fat in fried foods is often in the form of saturated or trans fat which is the worst kind of fat.
Another type of food you should try to avoid (I think many of you may be upset with this one) is ice cream. As good as ice cream tastes, it is one of the absolute worst foods for you if your goal is to shed body fat and lose weight. The truth is ice cream is absolutely loaded with fat, sugar, and calories (way more than you need.) I won’t even get into all the reasons of why ice cream is so bad (like preservatives, artificial colors and sweeteners, etc.) Let’s just look at the fat and calorie situation with respect to ice cream.
If you were to look at some of Ben & Jerry’s most popular ice creams, 1 cup (which is not really all that much) has on average over 500 calories and around 40 grams of fat with nearly half those grams coming in the form of saturated fat. Can you see why ice cream is such bad news if you are trying to reduce body fat and lose weight?
There are lots of healthier alternatives to ice cream like low or fat free frozen yogurts, sherberts, and sorbets. Try to select the healthier alternatives if at all possible. If you insist on eating ice cream, try to do so only on occasion and in limited quantity.
The last type of food I will look at in part 1 of this article that you should avoid is soda. Now I know soda isn’t a food but it’s not a good choice for several reasons. First off it’s loaded with sugar and high fructose corn syrup. The real problem with soda is that it slows down your body’s ability to burn fat and your body doesn’t realize it’s even getting the calories. Let’s suppose you drink 3 sodas at dinner (we’ll say they total 300 calories.) Well your body will hardly recognize that those calories were consumed and it will not slow your food consumption one bit. Soda’s don’t “fill” you up. The calories in them are “empty” and you won’t feel them. When possible drink water instead of soda as it’s much better for you and will help you get to your goals quicker. If you insist on drinking soda, do so only once in a while.
Stay away from fried foods, ice cream, and soda as they will wreck havoc on your ability to burn fat and lose weight. I will cover more foods to avoid in part 2.
